Key Visual 80 GHz Radar Micropilot for hygiene

For hygienic applications: Micropilot 80 GHz radar

Meeting your unique requirements

Our new hygienic 80 GHz Micropilot FMR63B offers efficiency, simplicity, product safety and meets the requirements of hygienic applications. The design of this device is in accordance to compliance standards such as EHEDG or 3-A. Its sensor and antenna are optimized for narrow tanks and rapidly changing levels. A combination of Heartbeat Technology with foam detection and Radar Accuracy Index, Ethernet-APL and wizards reduces errors and interruptions to the process.

Benefits

  • Hygienic design: Materials and their surfaces, seals and process connections meet the strict compliance standards of the life sciences and food industry, e.g. EHEDG, 3-A certification or ASME BPE.

  • Heartbeat Technology with Radar Accuracy Index (RAI) offers verification with traceability. The accuracy of the radar sensor can be verified while it is installed and without process interruption, reducing the time and effort of calibration.

  • Top measurement performance: The fast sensor chip and the narrow beam angle of the antenna make it possible to achieve accurate measurements in the case of rapidly changing levels and turbulent surfaces.

  • Easy operation: Intuitive operation, real-time data and the presentation of data in accordance with NAMUR standards means that errors are avoided and problems resolved quickly. Wizards ensure fast and safe commissioning of the measuring device.

  • Future-proof: As all instruments in our new, wide-ranging product portfolio of 80 GHz radar sensors, the Micropilot FMR63B with its innovative communication options such as Ethernet-APL is equipped for fast and secure data transmission.

Whatever your compliance or purity requirements, our Micropilot FMR63B is just as suitable for use in strictly regulated life science applications as it is in the food and beverage industry (e.g. dairies or breweries). The sensor comprises one single piece and therefore has no seals that require replacement, thus reducing the risk of interrupting the process.

From the seal to the process connection, the parts of the sensor in contact with the medium meet the requirements of EHEDG, 3-A certifications as well as ASME BPE. They are also suitable for external cleaning with aggressive cleaning agents such as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).

Fast and precise

Speed is particularly important in the case of rapidly changing levels or turbulent surfaces, e.g. in mixing tanks used to produce antibiotics or injection solutions. Our Micropilot FMR63B measures faster than the previous generation. Level measurements that are accurate to the millimeter are possible even in the event of fluctuations in the medium density, which in turn makes it possible to perform precision adjustments to concentrations.

The algorithms of the Micropilot FMR63B have been optimized specially for small tanks and fast processes, such as those typically found in the manufacture of cell cultures and vaccines and in filling processes. The narrow beam angle of the antenna enables accurate measurement results that are unaffected by fittings such as agitators or baffles. Measuring devices from our latest 80 GHz radar range can be used here without any problems.

Heartbeat Technology with Radar Accuracy Index

Heartbeat Technology increases the efficiency of your production and reduces downtime. Heartbeat Monitoring can be used, for example, wherever build-up or foam formation can occur, such as in the process of brewing beer or in a fermentation tank. Heartbeat Technology continuously monitors the formation of foam on the surface of the liquid and sends a signal when necessary. This allows countermeasures, such as the use of anti-foaming agent, to be controlled efficiently based on need.

Calibration cycles can be extended significantly by means of Heartbeat Technology with Radar Accuracy Index (RAI) ,which allows the radar accuracy of the device to be verified without interrupting the process. To do this, the RAI assesses the reference measurement accuracy during traceable verification in accordance with ISO 9001, in order to analyze the possible measurement drift compared to when the device was manufactured.

This means that you always have insight into the accuracy of your measuring device. Verification is performed in less than three minutes directly at the measuring point and without the need for additional devices. Documentation is generated automatically.

Connectivity and simplicity

Looking to increase your efficiency in the future? In addition to 4-20 mA HART and Profibus, our measuring devices are equipped with industrial Ethernet-APL. The ability to connect the field level in process plants gives you data transparency across your plant and prepares your processes for future digitalization.

Our new product range of 80 GHz radar sensors meets exacting requirements for ease of use and product safety. Operation via Bluetooth® and the SmartBlue app, as well as smartphone or tablet, is intuitive and takes place in real time. Errors are reduced thanks to new and proven device features, such as commissioning wizards, remote analysis via Bluetooth® or HistoROM for easy transfer of parameters to the new device.

Life sciences
